New features of note:
- The new site really focuses on two things – our Designers and Books. It puts our members and their work first. We’ve tried to make the new site easy to navigate and easy to upload your own work, so it can serve as a website/portfolio in its own right.
- The ‘Books’ page includes ALL paying members uploaded books plus ALL previously shortlisted and winning books from ABDA awards up until 2025. The Books page will act as Australia’s leading database of book design and uses a filtering system to sort through the year it was published, award it was nominated for (if applicable), what it was awarded (if applicable), style of design and genre.
- The ‘Designers’ page now puts our members’ work first. Members will be able to choose four books to highlight on this page. This page is now randomly organised and will change order on every refresh.
- The ‘Awards’ page will be the new hub for all things awards, and will be updated each year. This also hosts our Awards Archives which includes previous Shortlists, Longlists, Catalogues, Judges, Photos, Stickers and Emerging Designers.
- Future members-only resources will be available behind the paywall in members’ Dashboards.
If you haven’t already updated your profile, now’s the time!
Instructions for logging in and updating your profile:
- Login to the new site at https://abda.com.au
- Please use your email and password from the existing ABDA site to login to the new website.
Note: You can use the Forgot Password feature if you have lost your password. You can also use the Forgot Account Email if you have forgotten your email. - Once you login, you will be taken to your dashboard. There are three onboarding videos provided under Get Started to help you navigate your profile.
- Edit Profile: to update your contact information, bio, headshot, areas of expertise and any Non-ABDA related Awards
- Manage Books: to upload books to your profile. When uploading books make sure to write in a title, upload art (for books with internal pages, make sure to upload the cover first), tag the book with Style and Genre, and add any additional credits. Once you upload a book, you can always come back to edit or delete it.
Note: only upload books that have not been Shortlisted for previous ABDA awards. Those books will be automatically added to your account. You will not see these in the Manage Books page but you can see them in your View Profile page.
- View Profile: Once you have uploaded some books, you will be able to choose four of your books to ‘Feature’. These will be the books that will appear on the Designers page as your portfolio.
If your membership is inactive or has lapsed, consider renewing it to have your profile added to the shiny new site.
Memberships and Payments:
Any active memberships have already been carried over. Annual billing will still happen but will now be through the website as a subscription service.
When your current membership expires (or if it has already expired), you will receive a notification that your membership has lapsed and your account is not active.
When you login the next time, you will be prompted to enter your credit card details into the new site. This will officially start your new subscription through Stripe payments. This will now automatically bill each year, rather than paying an invoice.
You will still be able to receive an invoice on payment and you can cancel your subscription at any time.
If you have been issued an invoice in the last few months and is still outstanding, please do not pay that invoice. Let your membership lapse and renew it on the new site.
