Mietta is a Naarm/Melbourne-based book designer specialising in illustrated food and lifestyle books, with the occasional cover thrown in the mix. After a decade designing in-house at HarperCollins Publishers, Hardie Grant Publishing and Bonnier Publishing, she took the leap into freelance life and has never looked back. She’s been shortlisted for Emerging Designer of the Year at both the 70th and 71st Australian Book Design Awards, served as Vice-President of ABDA from 2021-2023, and is currently President.

Zara works across publishing, design and the visual arts, including photography and printmaking, and has previously worked in editorial, museum publishing and event coordination. She is currently the production coordinator, marketing designer and editorial assistant at Text Publishing, a literary and commercial fiction and non-fiction trade book publisher. Her approach to book design and print production favours refinement, simplicity, quality and innovation as a means of promoting sustainable publishing practices.

Emi is a freelance graphic designer and illustrator who specialises in illustrative books. Winner of the 2025 Deb Brash Emerging Designer award and the 2025 Designers’ Choice award, Emi brings her enthusiasm for typography and llustration to books and brands. Previously at Evi-O.Studio, she believes in the importance of developing an eye for detail and being able to bring a high level of craft to her work.

Sasha is a multidisciplinary creative with nearly a decade of experience in the publishing industry. Her background and specialisation in print production are invaluable to her book design practice, particularly in the areas of children’s books and illustrated non-fiction. She currently works in-house as Production & Design Manager at Little Book Press.

Sasha was shortlisted for the Deb Brash Emerging Designer of the Year in 2024 and won the 2026 Best Designed Children’s Picture Book for Gone, co-designed with the illustrator Michel Streich. 

It is Sasha’s firm belief that a little bit of holographic foil never hurt anyone!

Eloise is a Sydney-based graphic designer and illustrator working on Gadigal land. Books came first; she was selling them before designing them, and the obsession stuck. Previously at Re and Evi-O.Studio, she now works independently across brand identity and publication design, with a focus on thoughtful, craft-led storytelling.

Eloise was the recipient of the Emerging Designer of the Year award for 2026.

Lyn is a freelance letterer and book cover designer with over a decade of experience, working with publishers like Smith Street Books. She loves combining lettering, print and analogue charm into visual language that feels human and authentic. Judge a book by its cover? You betcha!

Casey is a freelance designer based in Central Victoria, working with clients both near and far. She specialises in books, lettering and packaging, where her illustration skills and keen eye for detail come together. She’s particularly drawn to illustrated titles across food, lifestyle, travel and craft, while her versatility and production know-how make her equally at home working across books of all kinds. Outside of design, Casey loves dogs, good food, travel and all things vintage.

Celia is an in-house designer at Hardie Grant Publishing, working across the Books and Explore lists. With a particular love of illustrated books, she enjoys being involved in every stage of the publishing process – from developing ideas and perfecting the design to art directing photoshoots, typesetting and preparing books for print. She loves getting immersed in the details of a project and seeing all the elements come together, from the first idea through to the finished book. In 2025, she was runner-up for the Deb Brash Emerging Designer of the Year Award.

Hannah is a Sydney-based designer who simply loves what she does. With over 13 years in the publishing industry, she has worked across a wide range of titles—from newspapers, magazines and cookbooks to lifestyle and kids’ books—with a particular focus in food publishing. Her experience spans design, typesetting, and prepress, giving her a strong understanding of the publishing process from concept through to print. Hannah loves collaborating with others and especially enjoys projects where she can combine her passions for food and design.

Lynette is a Sydney-based aspiring book-designer, currently working as a Marketing Designer at HarperCollins Australia following three years at Pan Macmillan Australia. Majoring in Painting at the National Art School and holding an Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design from Design Centre Enmore, TAFE NSW, she combines a fine art background in drawing and ceramics with a passion for typography and illustration.
