About ABDA
ABDA exists to support Australian book designers – to promote their work to, and connect with, the broader publishing community. In addition, we aim to discover and foster emerging talent. Through our public talks and workshops, digital showcases and the national annual Book Design Awards, ABDA provides a dynamic network for industry professionals.

Red Chilli Design
Bec has been designing books for an embarrassingly long time, including working as an in-house book designer for Pearson Education Australia. Freelance since 2002, she has designed books for Macmillan Education Australia, Mallon Publishing, Insight Publications, CUP and other commercial publishing houses. Bringing marketing, writing and editing skills to her design expertise, Bec also works with self-publishing authors to bring their work to life in a personalised and professional manner.
Book Designer
Mika is a book designer who has previously worked in-house at Walker Books Australia and is now part-time Production Designer at Allen & Unwin. She also freelances and works across a wide range of categories and publishers.
