ABDA exists to support Australian book designers – to promote their work to, and connect with, the broader publishing community. In addition, we aim to discover and foster emerging talent. Through our public talks and workshops, digital showcases and the national annual Book Design Awards, ABDA provides a dynamic network for industry professionals.

Hannah Janzen

Senior Book Designer

Hannah is an award winning, senior book designer based in Sydney, Australia. She has experience in a wide range of genres including fiction, non-fiction, cook books and illustrated books with a particular passion for children’s picture books, children’s fiction and YA. Hannah’s design work has been recognised for a number of industry awards including Young Designer of the Year in 2012. Most recently winning Best Designed Young Adult cover at the 2026 Book Design Awards.

Lillian Webb

Freelance book design and illustration

I am a freelance illustrator and book designer living in Newcastle, Australia.

With over seven years of experience in design and illustration, I can manage a book’s production from concept to print. My background in natural history illustration brings a unique skill set and exacting image creation to the book design process.

I am open to working with companies and individuals.
Some of my offerings include: cover design, internal layout design, typesetting, internal illustration and cover illustration.
