About ABDA
ABDA exists to support Australian book designers – to promote their work to, and connect with, the broader publishing community. In addition, we aim to discover and foster emerging talent. Through our public talks and workshops, digital showcases and the national annual Book Design Awards, ABDA provides a dynamic network for industry professionals.

Design Manager, Hardie Grant Egmont
Pooja is an award-winning designer currently working as the Design Manager for Hardie Grant Egmont. Before stumbling upon her one true love – publishing – her design career has spanned across packaging, product, magazines, marketing and digital. In her free time, Pooja runs her own freelance business working with NGOs such as Footscray Community Arts Centre, Road to Refuge and Human Rights and Arts Film Festival.
Freelance Book Designer
Hazel is an award-winning senior book designer. Her experience spreads across fiction, non-fiction, illustrated books, YA, children’s fiction and picture books. In 2020, she became the first book designer to be awarded the Rising Star Award at the Australian Book Industry Awards.
