Design Rationale

Cataloguing the use of colour through furnitures, the design utilises data as design elements. Mapping the use of colours through strips and dots eye-dropped from objects, readers can flick and scan how colours get richer overtime – from limited red, blue and yellow in the past to complex mix of colours today. Designers are represented by colour blocks of their palette, again using colour as design language. The cover is an abstract illustration of an iconic chair, revealing its full form when the full cover is observed, otherwise a graphic cover for this design-as-object exercise, with sprayed-edges completing the package.
