This print-on-demand publication features essays about feet and teeth, which I ‘illuminated’ with images that have creative commons licenses from medical archives. All the images related directly to, or argue against, the written text that they appear next to. Some are digitally manipulated, to make a point. Using creative commons images involves including extensive image credits – I chose to make a typographic feature of these, as they contain extra information that helps the reader interpret the images. Two visual essays are included in an appendix at the back of the book.
