The Bell Primary Family Cookbook is just what it sounds like: a community cookbook made as an end-of-year fundraiser for a primary school. The recipes were from the school families, as were the stories and jokes (a lot of ‘why did the…’ jokes). The art teacher got all the kids to draw their favourite meal, looking down on a plate (a lot of pizza), creating the chapter openers and the 221 different covers. The cookbook was typeset in Collingwood, with type designed in Thornbury, printed by the designers in Brunswick, and bound in Heidelberg West — a true local effort.
