About the Designer
Josh worked in magazine design before setting up his company Design by Committee under the mentorship of Australian book design luminary W.H. Chong. He draws upon a broad skill base to offer both illustrative and concept driven solutions to literary fiction, commercial fiction, YA, children’s, non fiction and illustrated book commissions for all of Australia’s leading publishers.

A raw, fiery, passionate YA book with a fiery cover to match. A small-town coming-of-age story. The main protagonist is an overthinking redhead so for a redhead designer the visual kind of created itself. We had a limited budget for finishes (ie zero!) so I tried to make the cover as dynamic as possible – hopefully integrating both type and illustrative with a simple but attention grabbing visual idea. There is also a tie in illustration on the back cover. Bonesland is a kinetic and visually striking cover. All type and illustration work is by Design by Committee.
