The cover for Busy Beaks needed to look fun and engaging! Many directions were explored but the simplicity of this chosen cover concept seemed the most striking and effective. A bright colour palette was selected which ties in with Sarah’s illustrations and the hand-drawn type adds a playfulness to the design. The internal layout is varied throughout to keep it interesting. The illustrations are complimented by clean, modern typefaces. A cute pattern of bird eggs has been used for the endpapers. The cover spot varnish picks up on individual feathers/ patterns of each bird creating a lovely, tactile feature.
