Clay was designed to showcase the tactility of the ceramic medium, while also reflecting the approachable modern way Amber writes about what she loves. The tactile uncoated flush-cut board cover pulls the reader in and sets the tone for the reading experience, and a number of different setups working within the same grid create appeal and continuity. Challenges included creating a framework that made 60 different photographic styles (!) work seamlessly, limitations on colour and typography due to international syndication, and working to ensure the custom cover imagery represented the artists within the book well.
