Coco the Big City Kitty follows the tale of a small kitten who lives on the top floor of the tallest city building. Charming Coco adores little things in life like her polka dot tutus and matchbox creations. This notion is what prescribed the small format dimensions of the book itself- a beautiful little story for little hands to enjoy.
The traditionally rendered illustrations lent themselves to a hand-lettered title, and hand drawn font for the internals. I created a sweet pattern for the endpapers using Coco’s favourite pink things, which frames the story like a hug from Coco.

- The pink, floral palette of the cover is enhanced by filigree foil detailing. I chose a bold magenta coloured foil to bring a contemporary brightness to the delicate watercolour illustrations. This magenta is echoed on the spine. The internals are printed onto woodfree stock, giving the illustrations depth and a lovely, warm tone."
