About the Designer
Reg is an award-winning designer and lecturer who runs the design consultancy Studio Regina. Her passion and expertise lie in book design, having worked extensively with publishers such as Oxford University Press, Black Dog Books (an imprint of Walker Books) and UNICEF. Reg also lectures in Data Visualisation, her other big passion. She runs a blog called Collected, where she designs info graphics on everything from hot chocolates she consumes to the songs stuck in her head.

How better to represent patterns of consumption than a woman and her shoe collection? Coupled with scanned images of actual receipts and tags, the design aims to engage students studying marketing and business. The subdued tones in the photography are a nod to Instagram and the fact that social media plays a big role in modern consumer behaviour. The muted colour palette complements the photography and aides in the navigation of this hefty volume. The number of photo frames in the part openers change depending on the part number — one frame for part one, two frames for part two…
