I wanted to capture a snapshot of a fourteen year old boy in a vulnerable moment of self reflection in a moving, yet not dark way, as the story is a journey of resilience. The pixilation was to convey that feeling of not knowing who you are yet. The pieces of self are there but have not come together yet, self doubt, insecurity and confusion are still clouding a clear picture of self. I used embellishments and layout to suggest the nostalgic feeling of a photo with a border and lamination with a spot of gloss over the image.
