All text and illustrations needed to work effortlessly together, making spreads easy to read yet full of interesting facts. To achieve this, the overall colour palette is limited, while each spread has a different hero colour so pages look varied and exciting.
I worked closely with the illustrator, who supplied illustrations as separates, to design spreads according to text while playing with hierarchies. The illustration style, mixed with shapes to house text, aims to make all elements flow as one.
It was important for me to honour an incredible female artist, and I’m proud of what this little book achieved.
