-
Our aim was to create a clean, modern version of an old illustrated botanical book. We wanted the photography to have an illustrated quality. The vegetables float on an infinite background with no shadow and a large depth of field. We left some information in the background so the vegies didn’t feel deep-etched. Many of the recipes have multiple components but I tried to keep the text design simple. Text blocks are centered on the page to match the central photography. A mix of a calligraphic font and a sans serif are used to continue the old/new juxtaposition.
