I wanted Less Stuff’s aesthetic to reflect author Lindsay Miles message, that a life with less (in this case, less illustration, more white space) can create an equally vibrant and fulfilling experience. Gestural lines, a colourful palette, and minimal illustrations guide the reader through the space and their journey into living life with less. Designing and illustrating a book about having less is quite a philosophical challenge! What items are worthwhile? What items are would we showcase to throw away? How can we honour white space to honour the space we need in our lives? A joy to design.
