-
Because there were six main characters in the book – three couples over different historical periods – the brief was to somehow have a human element and convey the tones and themes of the book, without having human figures on the cover. I knew I wanted to do something with letter writing stationery and tried multiple concepts with these kinds of motifs. But the sheet of stamps idea seemed to work the best, as the stamps house little icons that represent all of the different characters in the book and give the reader a little sense of the story inside.
