Liarbird is designed to reflect the deliberately dry and clipped tone of the bush banter that runs through this book. Sequential design, a limited palette, and a deliberate structure of vignettes and full-pages are key to enhancing the flow and pace of the story, which is often devoid of dialogue or narration. Tonally, we are aiming to evoke the feeling of bush-modernism (if there is such a thing … think of a Glenn Murcutt house!).
