We wanted to celebrate the notion of kawaií (cuteness) that is so intrinsically bound up in Japanese teen culture. Searching for inspiration, our ah-ha! moment occurred in the stationary section of an Asian supermarket. We stumbled across miniature erasers in the shape of sushi and Japanese sweets. Our playful and kawaií link to the Obento (lunchbox) brand was born. A paper circle backdrop connotes more traditional Japanese iconography ñ the rising sun, and paper craft. Dripping with illustration, textures and crazy collages, the fun internals are as colour popping and sensory overloading as a trip through the streets of Harajuku.
