As book one of a series, the cover had to stand alone and establish a clean series look. Character development was key, and Pig begged to dominate the cover, glaring his demented little face from the shelf. Eye-catching, bold primary colour, a classic serif title font with a textural, hand-drawn element give the book a timeless quality. The same hand-drawn style used to scribble Pig’s name over the endpaper bookplate transitions perfectly to the interior and reinforces the story’s content in a funny and purposeful way. The clean typography throughout show restraint, allowing the bold and hilarious illustrations to shine.
