At the beginning of the design process I visited Piggott’s studio, and was struck immediately by some of her influences, especially Japanese sensibilities, with regards to paper and fabric. Piggott’s work is delicate and meticulous with a very ethereal aesthetic. The format of the publication looked more towards a novella for proportions and typesetting instead of your typical monograph, which felt like the right pairing with the otherworldly nature of her work. The idea was that the finished product would appear as an extension of her practice.
