As a girl, Syahisti would hold the wax burner and marvel at the unique butterflies, flowers and dragonflies depicted in her grandmotherís batiks. By extracting each element and printing on to linen in full colour, our clientís dream of wrapping her hardcover memoir in this heirloom batik has been fulfilled. The same visual motifs appear throughout the book and provide texture that enhances her incredible life story. Gold metallic endpapers house the internal pages (printed on off-white uncoated stock) that are filled with archival photos from Syahistiís childhood in Java. The effect is that of a timeless treasure.
