-
Market was young, design-aware, smart serious readers interested in philosophy – mostly women. Using paper, scissors, collage and black pen, I wanted a figure that would evoke the author’s themes of joy, intimacy and adventure. The cover design was simple and restrained – combining a serif font with a quirky illustration to make it feel a little bit serious and ‘classic’ and a little bit contemporary and stylish. We chose an uncoated cover stock and embossed the flowers, legs and shoes to make the holding of the book a tactile pleasure.
