Design Rationale

This book is a stunningly beautiful and powerful take on climate change, standing up for what you believe in and the power of hope. I wanted the cover design to visually represent the size of the dichotomy between both the size of the giant her warning compared with the girl and the sea. I worked closely with the illustrator to design the cover composition and internal flow.

The hand-drawn style title lettering was chosen to compliment the artwork style. The giant is further embellished with beautiful gold foil locks of hair representing the hope of the message he brings.

Special finishes
The cover features swirling gold foil that flows like beautiful golden hair down from the giant’s face as well as other decorative elements between the title and the birds in the sky. The cover has a matt varnish finish and is also further enhanced with a Spot UV gloss finish on the title and creator names.
