Design Rationale

I thought it would be interesting to blend the Gothic architecture of Prague with Czech ephemera from the mid century to represent the city in a very graphic way. I found some particularly stunning matchbook labels and stamps that have a beautiful simplicity to them, which influenced the illustration. Another nod to the city is the frame that borders the illustration, which is taken from the street signs of the capital. We used gold foil to hint at Prague’s wealthy past, with a textured stock to tie in again to the matchbook feel.
