Design Rationale

My brief was to ‘create striking visuals playing off the strong title and for it to be a simple text-led design’, which I thought was the perfect brief for Maxine’s powerful memoir. Reading this memoir made me feel so many things I almost burst. I knew the title needed to have maximum impact, be bold and proud. I then decided to create a drop shadow for each letter and fill them with abstract, energetic patterns and intense colours to create a sense that there is so much going on beneath the surface that each of the letters may also burst.
