After trying and failing to actually toast the title type onto dozens of slices of bread with various templates I combined photos of toast and reversed the type out onto plain bread so that it would read properly. Various retro patterns were overlaid to create a 1970s flowery tablecloth, eventually suggesting avocado with the colour. The overall intention was for an image would play off the great title to suggest something superficially appealing (by using the highly patterned tablecloth) contrasting with the emptiness of the plain toast – waiting for something exciting and substantial to happen.
