The design brief for TAWL was for it to be more of a departure from Hetty’s consistent looking previous 3 books, while remaining in the same universe. I liked the title and had in my mind ‘how do you serve and eat love’ which I answered quite literally. I presented just a typographic cover but also created an option with food. Pleasingly, we went with both – food on the jacket and a typographic case (more eaten). The consumption of the letters is continued as a motive throughout. The orange/red and yellow colour pallet is also used throughout.
