Tokyo the book aims to reflect Tokyo the city: a mix of old and new that is frenetic and busy, yet highly organised and sprinkled with welcome pockets of tranquillity. The colour palette was designed to complement both black and white, and works hard to enhance the wide variety of photography in the book. The special finishes elevate the book to a gift-like object. Together with the publishing team, I worked hard to create a cover that was layered, bright and commercially viable – an intriguing cover that makes readers curious to learn more about this amazing city.
