The challenge was to create an accessible, spirited design without overshadowing the artists’ works, and to bring a coherent aesthetic to a range of mediums and messages. The solution was to create a series of simple illustrated graphics for the openers that celebrate each chapter topic. The internal typography was designed to be clear and easy to navigate, giving the artworks breathing room. The cover graphic is inspired by the women who speak their truth to the world through their art, words and deeds. The mouth and eye icon symbolise the expression of their stories. The bomb speaks for itself.
