This book presents a series of illustrations I produced in 2011 for an exhibition about the relationship between writers and their writing machines. The 2014 publication Writers’ Typewriters features all 45 illustrations, and anecdotes I found about each writer’s relationship with their typewriter during the research phase of the illustrations. I chose a format and paper stock associated with inexpensive paperbacks to match the content. The cover image is another illustration from the 2011 exhibition, of my own typewriter. I consciously avoided using a typewriter font.
