Lantern Books former Art Director Daniel New and Senior Designer Evi Oetomo have joined forces to create the design studio OetomoNew.

The duo has been the recipients of numerous Australian Book Design Awards and have designed titles for authors including Maggie Beer, Stephanie Alexander, Kylie Kwong, Matt Moran, George Calombaris, Megan Morton, Wendy Whiteley, Saskia Havekes and Karen McCartney.

The OetomoNew studio is in Marlborough House in Sydney’s Surry Hills.

“We’re really excited to go out on our own, have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with good people doing good things.” says Daniel.

“While our focus will be on publication design, we intend to branch out into branding and identity or pretty much anything if it’s an interesting project with nice people.”

Oetomo and New have each been shortlisted for two awards in the 2016 Australian Book Design Awards.
