The brief was to capture this hilarious mystery about Clara the chicken who wants to be a detective! I commissioned illustrations of Clara looking through her magnifying-glass, showing the quirky, comical side with Clara’s big eye peering at the reader. She is then surrounded by spot illustrations that reference different parts of the story. I used modern, quirky lettering in a limited colour palette to highlight the protagonist in the forefront. The title treatment is framed in a logo-type device shaped like a broken egg adding to the comedy factor whilst also referencing the chicken in a different, visual way.
