I wanted the cover to give a sense of what’s inside: that the kinds of ways kids (and adults!) can be smart are not just traditional/academic ways. So there is a child on the cover smelling flowers, one is looking at bugs, one is daydreaming, one is playing the recorder, one is reading a book, one is mixing up a potion and one is deep in dress ups, and so on. I separated the book to print in four pantone colours: a vibrant grass-green, black, blue, and a fluoro orange, and the cover is printed with a holographic clear foil.
