About the Designer
Josh worked in magazine design before setting up his company Design by Committee under the mentorship of Australian book design luminary W.H. Chong. He draws upon a broad skill base to offer both illustrative and concept driven solutions to literary fiction, commercial fiction, YA, children’s, non fiction and illustrated book commissions for all of Australia’s leading publishers.

Anchor Point: A book about family breakdown and climate change- and reconciling things being beyond our control. A major fire burns far quicker across cleared farmland- a pivotal image in the book. I wanted it to look like the book itself was burning at first glance- then on closer inspection a scorched landscape is revealed. I hand drew the typography with charcoal to better marry it with the imagery and kept it all simple and pared back to maximise impact. All photo illustration work is by Design by Committee.
