The outstanding photo-realist painting of the adolescent called Tom shows remarkable technical virtuosity, seeing what is possible at the juncture of painting and photography. Although a painting, the stunning work hints at the obsession with youth and image in modern culture. The image was chosen to highlight the best in Australian comtemporary art as well as to connect with the target audience.We used a high gloss finish in order to resemble the finish on the original painting.
