Design Rationale

This design was about paring back the details to create a striking cover using a visual symbol as a graphic device and bold type design styling. Danger and adventure in one! Due to budget constraints we use stock images a lot, so when I chanced upon this image of a match and finger I knew it was perfect for this book. The title lettering I distorted in illustrator to give it a letterpressed feel to tie in with the image. The secondary font assisted with the visual story. Using few colours makes for a striking cover design.
