-
The cover design graphically represents the central theme of the novel: cultural cross-fertilisation of English and Bangladeshi communities in contemporary London. The sense of east meets west is conveyed through one style of type with a British vibe against an Islamic pattern, linking the cultures together. The novel is a comic and wry multicultural saga, a cross between Zadie Smithís White Teeth and Pride and Prejudice, hence the vibrant colour scheme embellished with luxurious hints of gold.
