From its infancy there was always going to be a musical reference to the publication… The format was loosely based on an LP, I wanted to create that same sense of discovery when you remove the publication from its sealed packaging. The artist’s voice appears intermittently throughout, reminiscent of a liner note when discussing works on the small tipped in pages. Sylvester’s lyrics punctuate the plates sections in a combination of high key colours, considered yet unapologetic. The production techniques were approached with the same sense of research and planning Darren applies to his practice.
