Death of a Typographer
  • Designers' Choice

Design Rationale

This book project was completely unique for a number of reasons. Not only was it a murder-mystery about typography (that’s unusual in itself) but the fact that the main character was loosely based on my own life as a designer made this a very personally-invested project. The approach is absolute graphic simplicity – highlighting the visceral potential of minuscule typographic detail. The cover is pragmatically designed to work on an iconic level – as a symbol highly legible in both digital environments or in bookshop windows. Typographic cues from the cover flow through the text settings and chapter dividers.
