Design Rationale

Jamie Durie is an energetic force of nature and has a passion for edible gardens that look as good as they taste. I wanted to capture his energy and make a book that was easy to navigate and visually exciting. The perfect example of this can be seen in the openers and endpapers for which we used vegetables to create beautiful patterns reminiscent of elaborate wallpaper design. The variety of paper textures used throughout the book adds warmth and tactility. The tones are earthy as well as featuring the pops of colour found in the brightest fruits of summer.
