About the Designer
Ella is a Melbourne based designer and typographer, currently on contract with the NGV. Her work is research based and her intention is that the design that emerges from that knowledge is an extension of its historical content, and is visualised in a contemporary manner. She believes the beauty is in the detail.

Ella has applied her impressive knowledge of typography and production to corporate projects with clever and striking results. Of the submissions, Ella had perhaps the driest briefs to work on and this is reflected in the slightly functional, utilitarian nature of her covers. However her technical ability impressed – she designed all of her projects inside and out. One judge commented that Ella’s project for the CSL was ‘particularly impressive, I feel that she is a designer with a lot potential – I would like to see her given opportunity to work on more commercial trade projects’.
