Ebony (the author) and myself set out to design a cute craft book that would not only convey a certain Japanese charm, but also appeal to western aesthetics. The brief was to stay smart and clean while keeping a fun twist, hence the small caption-like breakouts and cheeky facial expressions used throughout. Images were a mix of studio shots and Ebony’s own snaps, letting the reader peek into the author’s everyday life, and reflecting her popular blog.
