The design for Hello, Melbourne! was a considered response to balancing the detailed imagery with the informative but fun text accompanying the illustrations. Designing the text to sit along the top of the page allows the reader the option to process small paragraphs and relate the information to the illustration one section at a time, or to read along the full spread before using the artwork to further inform the reading. With consideration to parents reading with small children, or older readers learning about the city, the design is friendly and manageable for all levels.
