This novel blurs the real and the fantastic. The protagonist, Iris, is constantly trying to solve the mysteries around her. It’s a great introduction to surrealist art, so I wanted to bring some of that to the cover by turning the eclectic characters into artworks (including Iris herself). The setting is a Spanish mansion filled with art and collectables and Iris is on the hunt for an elusive tiger, which the wallpaper echoes. The chapter illustrations act as a guide to the mysteries that are unfolding. The overall aim was bright and inviting with a hint of intrigue.
