About the Designer
Allison Colpoys is an award-winning designer and illustrator, and the Art Director at Scribe Publications. Her picture books include The Underwater Fancy-dress Parade, Under the Love Umbrella, If All the World Were… and All the Ways To Be Smart. As well as receiving numerous Australian Book Design Awards for her illustration and cover design, she has won the CBCA Crichton Award for Best New Talent and two Australian Book Industry Awards.

I LOVE the title. I really wanted it to be the main focus for the cover design. A title as brilliant as this really does all of the work. I wanted to try to create a sense of energy and excitement on the cover as well, with the large, slanted 3D handwriting, zebra rays, and holographic foil. We narrowed it down to two different foils with Oliver, the author, but it was so hard to make the final call. Then Julia Carlomagno, the book’s editor, and I had the crazy thought of doing both.
