Part fact-book, part travel-diary and filled with personal observations, LOTS is a picture book that captures a multitude of unique, quirky and interesting things occurring around the world. The design aims to reflect a feeling of spontaneity, immediacy and familiarity as captured by the author/illustrator. Handwritten ink-brush text, fluid watercolour and pencil illustrations, and dense compositions are used to convey the vibrancy and energy of specific locations. Each spread aims to work as a single image that creates an overall mood via the colour palette and textural elements, drawing the reader in through a playful merging of text and image.
