About the Designer
Evi O. established her reputation for a strong design aesthetic and collaborative spirit during a decade at Penguin Books, most notably creating award-winning illustrated books in the fields of food, design, interiors, architecture, art, garden and wellness. Her art and design practice ranges across 2D and 3D forms, print and digital, having collaborated with book and magazine publishers, homeware labels, and brands. She practices from her Marrickville studio in Sydney. She is a founding member of ABDA.

The vision is to create an aspirational swimming guide that is functional and on-brand to the previous title by the authors. This is achieved by typographically marrying a fun, display typeface for personality with an authoritative body typeface. Decorative lines and bold colours are thrown in here and there to create contrast. Photography is laid out in an editorial manner, creating a narrative should readers choose to flick through. The cover features a bold combination of type and photography, pushing the convention of this genre comfortably, but enough to make an impact.
