About the Designer
Evi O. established her reputation for a strong design aesthetic and collaborative spirit during a decade at Penguin Books, most notably creating award-winning illustrated books in the fields of food, design, interiors, architecture, art, garden and wellness. Her art and design practice ranges across 2D and 3D forms, print and digital, having collaborated with book and magazine publishers, homeware labels, and brands. She practices from her Marrickville studio in Sydney. She is a founding member of ABDA.

Part reference guide book, part illustrated book, Places We Swim is packed with information that needs to be communicated effortlessly. We responded the challenge with refined typography and designed layouts. Each spread is a visual narrative told through a series of photography. Text pages are designed to be accessible, without lacking a designer’s touch. Series of icons help with navigation. The design also includes maps and editorial-like feature pages. The endpapers are a set of stylish mono printed photographs. A striking photographic cover and a generous yet compact format creates a distinction to other titles in its genre.
