About the Designer
Pooja is an award-winning designer currently working as the Design Manager for Hardie Grant Egmont. Before stumbling upon her one true love – publishing – her design career has spanned across packaging, product, magazines, marketing and digital. In her free time, Pooja runs her own freelance business working with NGOs such as Footscray Community Arts Centre, Road to Refuge and Human Rights and Arts Film Festival.

For this series I wanted to create a series design that worked in harmony with Sophie’s energetic style. I created a colour scheme that unified the series – each dual combination visually tying into the next title. Being inspired by Sophie’s very textured illustrations, I created a unique pattern on each cover to match the busy internals. Initially I wanted the title plaque for this series to be a paw shape, but the idea felt too heavy handed. So, after many iterations I settled on this shape that’s loosely based on the lower half of a paw print.
