The creative brief for the design of Real Pigeons was to: capture the hilariously silly crime-fighting pigeon mysteries within the text; be highly visible amongst a sea of bright, busy competitor titles; and to provide a cover which would sit comfortably on a shelf in an independent bookstore or chain. Countless design iterations were explored, including a range of custom lettering options, layout/illustration variations and colour combinations before we settled on our absolute favourite!
